The author’s individuality and creative potential, represented in his texts are the display of linguocreative thinking. Creativity as an instrument of creation of the author’s carnival model of the world is shown up in his style, writing, themes, subjects, images etc. Linguocreative thinking gives an opportunity to creatively deviate from standard ways of the author’s self-consciousness, his verbal self-expression where the latest depends on the level of linguistic competence that is grasp of vocabulary, grammar, ability to adequately perceive and create texts according to communicative tasks. Comic tonality of the literary texts written by Dave Barry forms the carnival model of the world, special perception of the world, which arises in the form of phono-graphic and stylistic devices. Among the most specific phono-graphic devices italics, graphic signs, capitalization are singled out. Stylistic devices are represented by allusion, paradox, self-irony, hyperbole in Dave Barry’s text of art. ER -
