The basic principles of lexicographic description of metaphorical nominations in explanatory dictionaries are the following: the institution of the place a portable (metaphorical) meanings in the structure of polysemantic word and the corresponding location in the dictionary entry; a necessary and sufficient interpretation of the metaphorical nominations; introduction of appropriate grammatical and stylistic labels; bringing modern illustrative material, which adequately demonstrates the functioning of the metaphorical nomination.
