Abstract

The article represents the syntactic concept as a reference of comparison standard in modern studies on cognitive-semantic syntax. The scientific results concerning the definition of the concept “syntactic concept” and its use in comparative typological works have been analysed. The potential ability of the syntactic concept to establish the basis for comparison in the study of syntactic categories in different types of discourse has been established. This approach will provide an opportunity to examine in detail not only specific homogeneous concepts, but also abstract heterogeneous phenomena and categories.
